Well, it’s been about…well, a month. I told you that you shouldn’t hold your breath about my updating my blog.
Grad school sucks major balls. I hate it. Like, I’m grateful to be here but i’m so sick of school, it’s not even funny. i’m sick of the classes. i’m sick of the people. i’m sick of the homework and the pointless projects. i’m ready to start my life.
i think a lot of this has to do with my fabulous week-long vaca to Palm Coast, Florida. In five years, I have not had a decent spring break vacation but it was definitely worth the wait. It was beautiful, peaceful, and most importantly fun. it’s been a very long time since i had that much fun with people my own age.
i also learned something important. my family doesn’t need me anymore. i don’t need to feel guilty when i want to go and experience something new. It felt good to go and just relax and not have to worry about if I was letting my family down or going to disappoint my mom. it was nice to just be Jessica Barton, the person. Not Jessica Barton, the student. Not Jessica Barton, the daughter. Not Jessica Barton, the sister. Just Jessica. And it also helped that I was in a private resort which was amazing.
But after having this new experience, I want to have more. I’ve realized that with a little bit of creativity nothing is impossible. I have limited myself with lame excuses: it’s too expensive, i don’t know anybody that will go with me, blah, blah, blah. I have to be brave and make decisions. So that has lead me to create my own “Bucket List” (if you haven’t seen that movie…WATCH IT!) What is on my list? Well, stay tune for the next update.
